"Because of the development needs of the cotton textile industry of this country, Uzbekistan will stop exporting cotton from 2020."

Uzbekistan's president Mir Ziyoev made a clear statement to the outside world again, indicating that Ukraine is determined to pform from a traditional cotton producing country to a strong textile country.

Statistics from the Ukrainian National Statistical Commission showed that in the first 11 months of 2018, 110 thousand tons of cotton fiber exported to Ukraine and 213 million worth of goods, accounting for 1.9% of total exports, continued to decline.

At the same time, textile exports maintained a rapid growth trend, and exported 1 billion 178 million US dollars in the first 11 months of 2018, an increase of 15.3% over the same period in 2017, accounting for 10.4% of total exports.

This group of data reflects that the Ukrainian cotton industry is undergoing profound pformation under the guidance of policies.

In December 14, 2017, President Mir Ziyoev signed the presidential decree to speed up the development of textile and knitting industry, and pointed out the direction for the future development of Ukraine textile industry from the top level design.

A few days ago, the development strategy of Uzbekistan textile industry from 2019 to 2021 was also officially released according to the presidential decree.

The strategy is aimed at adhering to export oriented, using high-tech to produce competitive technology intensive products, encouraging industries to attract investment and innovation, strengthening the deep cooperation of industries, and other tasks. In order to achieve the goal of achieving a 60% increase in output of textile industry by 2021, the output of fabrics, knitwear and socks increased by 50%, 80% and 230% respectively, and the export volume increased to 7 billion US dollars by 2025.

There are two main reasons why the Ukrainian government actively seeks to pform from cotton exports to textile exports: first, attaching importance to the higher added value of textiles, and two, seeing its great potential in the textile industry.

As a traditional cotton growing country, the development of the textile industry by Wu Yin Di can not only give full play to the cost advantage of raw materials for cotton production, but also rapidly upgrade and promote local industries through the combination of advanced technology and capital with foreign countries.

In order to speed up the development of the textile industry, Ukraine is also constantly creating important opportunities for itself.

At the end of cotton planting, Wu is vigorously promoting cotton cultivation to improve quality and efficiency.

On the one hand, we should reduce the non suitable cotton land, so that cotton planting will continue to be concentrated in suitable areas, and the scale and efficiency of cotton planting will be increased. On the other hand, we should tighten up the reservoir and other measures to ensure that cotton is fully irrigated in the growth process to enhance cotton yield and quality.

At the end of processing and production, the government's supporting policies continue to provide better guarantee for the development of textile enterprises, and at the same time, it also rapidly promotes the attraction of foreign capital in this field.

According to data from Ukrainian Textile Industry Association, multinational capital such as Turkey, Korea, China, Singapore and Switzerland are actively participating in the development of Ukrainian textile industry. At present, more than 150 foreign-funded textile enterprises are operating in Ukraine, of which 50 are purely foreign-funded enterprises.

In addition to the policy factors, Uzbekistan's unique location advantages in Central Asia hinterland and Eurasia traffic arteries are also highly valued by foreign investors.

The Ukrainian government is very clear about this. Therefore, it is clearly stated that the regional representatives of the Ukrainian Textile Industry Association will be established in the process of developing international cooperation to radiate the CIS, European and Southeast Asian markets.

It is worth noting that the efforts made by the Ukrainian government in recent years to prohibit mandatory labour and raise salaries for cotton pickup personnel have also been recognized by the international community.

In September 2018, the labor department released the list of child labour and forced labour products released in late September 2018.

Analysts believe that the United States "lifting the ban" Ukrainian cotton good news, for Ukrainian textile exports to the EU, North America and Japan to lay an important foundation for the market.
